One and All,

Come 9 a.m it will be one week until our latest record Memory is released.. So far the reports have been kind..

“a magnificently melodic masterpiece from London’s answer to Leonard Cohen" NME
“Happily, Dan hasn’t cheered up… the laureate of weary desolation” 8/10 Uncut
"A raw and strikingly vulnerable collection of songs” 4/5 Q
“baritone vocal, creaking like a ship’s hull coming apart” 4/5 MOJO
"a man who can convey the endless complications of the human mind through the simplicity of honest lyricisms and clarity of musical scope, something that has defined him for many years as a genuine innovator and artist." The Line of Best Fit

You can imagine the spring in my step but don't let that colour your otherwise impeccable judgement.

Here are the facts:

This heavyweight and tasty hunk of pastry will raise the dust on your doorstep Friday 6th of May if you click on it:

Limited Edition numbered LP with bonus disc and Risograph poster

Gatefold CD with bonus disc and Risograph poster

Memory has 7 songs and lasts just over 31 minutes, which in my opinion is about as long as any meaningful experience can be expected to last. I love a short album and won't be swayed by anyone who calculates the worth of a record by its length or song count. I want to press play, inhabit that world for as long as it lasts and think of nothing else until it is done and dusted.  That is what an album means to me. That said, for those who may fancy a second wind there's a 6 track free bonus disc that lasts another 22 minutes or so. If you're still left frisky, you can enjoy the free poster somehow.. be it by framing, defacing or anything in between.

I JUST GOT TO HAVE IT

If you prefer the romance of a record shop, I'm with you.. Here are two of my favorites:

Rough Trade

Resident

Of course, I understand your life is complicated and Amazon takes a little of the pain out of it.. Theres no bonus disc or poster but you don't need those complications anyway, so here it is:

Amazon.

We'll also be playing a show in London on 12th May. So far no other city has been able to meet our outrageous performance fee (£100) and I appologise to everyone that has asked for tour dates (*over 7 of you). You can buy tickets here:

We Need A Night Out

As ever, I leave you with love... a funny kind of love,

Dan.
