First off: Huge thanks to all who bought First Light, helping us to reach the Number 1 spot this week. I honestly never dreamt this would happen...hopefully we'll cling on to it until Christmas. I have not been so excited about a release since Bryan Adams stormed the charts with (Everything I do) I do it for you.
If you haven't already ruined someone's Christmas, you can get First Light by gently pressing you finger weight down HERE.
Or Rought Trade, Resident Records, Amazon, Spotify.
I'm deeply chuffed that Caught by the River declared First Light to be their Album of the Month. I've always trusted their judgement, and never more so than at this moment.
Others have been very kind/correct also, for example:
"low-key emotional intensity, widescreen minimalism and mordant wit.. a stunningly lovely gothic country drama" UNCUT
"The songs here are real beauties, from the blurry swell of Someone Else's Dream to the bittersweet delicacy of Old Kisses" Q Magazine
"A dark but beautiful world" NME
"Should really come with a health warning" The Standard
"A pearl of orchestrated splendour" The Mirror (Yup, I'm quoting the Mirror)
There was also a sourpuss or two along the way but why linger on such an unpleasant thought.
Wishing you all the warmest of evenings, no doubt we'll be in touch soon.
